Watch Live Football

Quite possibly one of the most famous footballers ever to set foot on the pitch David Robert Joseph Beckham was born on May 2, 1975 in Leystone, London, England. David Beckham has had a career that can only be compared to the likes of a rock star or actor, but he is nothing more than very talented footballer from London.
With his every move watched and every action documented and criticized, Beckham has never had it easy playing for Manchester United, Real Madrid or his country of England. An unparallel technical ability, world famous bending free-kicks and an uncanny ability to make any team he plays for much better, Beckham is with out a doubt one of the best footballers the English national team has ever had in the midfield. Beckham’s international football career with England began back in September of 1996 in a World Cup qualifying match against Moldova.
Playing in all of the qualifying matches for England leading up to the 1998 World Cup in France, Beckham was getting more experienced with every appearance. England’s manager at the time, Glenn Hoddle, thought Beckham’s head was not in the right place, so he made him ride the bench for the first two matches. When he finally got his shot in game three against Colombia, Beckham made it worth his while scoring on one of his patent free-kicks from a distance.
This was his first goal on the English squad which resulted in a victory for England 2-0. Controversy began to surround Beckham in the next round of play for against Argentina when he was sent off with a red card for an altercation with Argentina player Diego Simeone. The match eventually ended in a draw and Argentina won on penalties which eliminated England, but Simeone admitted later that he was purposely trying to make the situation worse to convince the referee to get Beckham sent off. After the elimination of the English team, Beckham took most of the blame for the loss and England’s early exit from the World Cup. It was nothing short of a nightmare for the young footballer; Beckham was hammered by the press, fans and football critics. The abuse was very hard for Beckham from a dartboard with his face on it being printed in an English newspaper to a dummy made to look like Beckham being hung from a rope outside a London pub and worst of all death threats. He went from rising superstar to the most hated football player in his own country.

The next international competition for England was the Euro championship in 2000. The tournament ended for England when they were eliminated by Portugal 3-2 and the English fans showed their distaste for Beckham even though he had two assists in the match. Beckham had enough and responded with flipping off the crowd in anger. The heckling was getting so bad for Beckham that even the newspaper were advising fans to stop because it had just gone too far. Shortly thereafter the Euro championship, Kevin Keegan the English manager at the time stepped down and resigned as coach of England. His short lived replacement was Peter Taylor who gave Beckham the captaincy of the team which was continued when Sven-Goran Eriksson arrived as the new manager. It was still tough times for Beckham, but under Eriksson he was slowly winning back the English fans leading up to the 2002 World Cup. Beckham officially arrived back into the spotlight and in good graces with English fans when they faced off against Greece in a match that England had to win or draw to qualify for the up coming World Cup.
The score was 2-1 and most of the squad was not playing up to par until Beckham sparked the English squad with late game heroics, scoring a free-kick after teammate Teddy Sheringham had gotten fouled just outside the penalty area. The free-kick was classic Beckham, bent to perfection and saved England chances at the World Cup. This goal put Beckham back on the map and in the hearts and minds of all England supporters.
In the 2002 World Cup Beckham was not in top form because of an injury he had sustained earlier in the year, but there was nothing that was going to stop him from playing. Ironically enough, Beckham played a major part in Argentina’s failure to qualify in the knockout round. Beckham had a fantastic goal off a penalty against Argentina ending their run in the tournament. Unfortunately, England loss to Brazil in the quarter-final match, Brazil went on to win the World Cup in 2002. Four years later in 2006, England got another shot at the World Cup in Germany. Beckham performance in this Cup was highly criticized with the midfielder not playing in top form in some critics eyes.

Beckham had minimal contributions to his team, but he did assist Peter Crouch and Steven Gerrard’s goals against Trinidad and Tobago to win Man of the Match honors. In the second round Beckham became sick before the game, but still managed to score on a free-kick to win the match against Ecuador and make history by being the only player in England’s history to score in three World Cups. The English eventually lost to Portugal in the quarter-final, Beckham was taken out due to injury which left him very emotional as this may have been his last World Cup. Only 24 hours after the disappointing loss in the World Cup, Beckham made an announcement that he was stepping down as captain of the English squad. Shortly thereafter, new manager for England Steve McClaren dropped Beckham from the team completely to make way for talented youth. Almost a year later, in May of 2007, Steve McClaren recalled Beckham back to the national team which revitalized a suffering England team. Beckham went on to make brilliant performances in games against Brazil and Estonia passing out three assists in the two matches and giving England what it was desperately missing, one of the best midfielders to play the game, David Beckham.

Furniture care guide

Furniture care guide

First, some background on pine furniture.
Pine is a naturally soft wood which continues to "breathe", based upon changes in the local (home, office, store, etc.) humidity and temperature. On the individual furniture piece there may be slight defects, such as knots, and shakes(small cracks in the surface of the wood). Some minor shrinkage may sometimes occur. These natural irregularities in pine enhance its overall uniqueness.

Do not place this product next to a radiator or in direct sunlight. Wood is a natural product and will expand if subjected to damp and will shrink and may crack if subjected to heat. This product is made of pine, which is a timber that is common for furniture, but susceptible to temperature changes. With pine furniture it is recommended that an even room temperature be maintained with no sudden temperature fluctuations, up or down.

Do not place HOT or CHILLED items directly on to the surface, use a place mat. Or marking will occur.

For general cleaning use a duster or damp cloth (ALMOST DRY) not wet.

Do not use soap and water or detergents of any kind on this product for cleaning. To maintain the characteristic finish on this furniture, do not use aerosol sprays or any polish containing Silicon. If unsure, try on an area that"s not seen and look for reactions. There is a natural stain and finish on this furniture and it will react to most manmade products.

It will from time to time require the surface re-treating again to maintain its character. You can easily do this yourself using block wax (unperfumed), rubbing it over the whole item, following the manufacturers instruction. After treating your furniture, you may notice it is slightly more waxier than previously. This is normal because wood is a natural product that breathers and absorbs depending on room temperature.

The use of any cleaning materials other materials other than those recommended could damage the surface and will invalidate any claim.

From time to time it may be necessary to tighten fittings. This is normal and regular inspections should be carried out.

Do not place furniture onto a wet or damp floor as staining may occur to your floor.

Indian Sheesham

bedroom Furniture made from Indian Sheesham is provided in its natural state. It will appear polished due to the natural oil occuring in the wood. You should wipe your furniture with a damp cloth to remove any dust from manufacturing. The oil on the surface will evaporate after a few days outdoors. It is the oil that remains below the surface that gives the wood its durability. Some of these oils may bleed out following the first few rainfalls, and initially, you will want to bring your cushions in when the furniture is wet. Once the furniture has begun to form the silver-grey patina, it is no longer necessary to bring the cushions indoors.

To clean the furniture without removing the silver-grey patina simply use soap and water. Should you want to maintain the golden brown color, we recommend a teak sealer be applied every 12-18 months. Wood sealers are usually solvent based with water-like viscosity containing mould, ultra-violet light and moisture protection. The Wood protector should be applied after cleaning and drying out your furniture. We do not recommend painting Indian Sheesham as the wood"s natural oils can affect how the paint adheres. Teak has qualities unlike any other wood as it has the ability to withstand the rigors of adverse climates.

Benidorm – A Costa Blanca Resort in the Alicante Province of Spain.

Benidorm – A Costa Blanca Resort in the Alicante Province of Spain.

One of the most loved areas in the whole of Spain is the Costa Blanca (White Coast) region, which is situated in the southeastern Spain on the Mediterranean coast, and is within the province of Alicante.

The Costa Blanca coastline is packed with stunning seaside resorts and the complete area is noted for its superb sandy beaches. Two of the finest resorts along this fabulous coastline are the lively town of Benidorm and the much more tranquil resort of Denia, which are both to the north of Alicante and are both well known and mature resorts.

Benidorm is the biggest, brashest and the finest resort on the Costa Blanca by a long way, and in fact welcomes more visitors than any other seaside resort throughout Europe, with over four million arriving by plane, car and boat each year. Benidorm is situated between Valencia and Alicante and is easily reached from Alicante airport (around 30 minutes by car). Benidorm is especially popular for its buzzing and vibrant nightlife, its huge sandy beaches and its magnificent theme parks.

The nightlife in Benidorm is without equal, with an enormous variety on offer, from cosy ‘English’ style pubs and Spanish backstreet tapas bars to fully fledged cabaret shows at super venues like the Benidorm Palace and Talk of the Coast with top singers, comedians and entertainers on show.

The fine beaches of Benidorm extend for miles and the two largest ones are Playa Poinente and Playa Levante, there is lots of space but both beaches can still get very packed during the popular summer months, so to reserve the best spots, arrive early. The wonderful Benidorm theme parks which are all definitely worth a visit include the Terra Mitica, Mundomar Marine and Exotic Animal Park, Aqualandia and the Terra Natura.

A little more northwards towards Valencia and around 85 kilometres north-east of Alicante is the picturesque resort of Denia. Also a long established seaside town, Denia became popular during the 1960’s and attracted numerous wealthy North Europeans looking to buy their own holiday homes in the sun. Denia still attracts holiday home buyers but has also become popular with holidaymakers who arrive in droves especially during the warm summer months.

Denia is centred around an Eleventh Century castle, originally constructed by the Moors who held sway over most of Spain in those distant times. Denia is particularly well known for its elaborate Fiestas (along with the rest of the Costa Blanca and Spain), many of which take place during the summer season and are all well worth attending.

Denia is also well known as being the port from which the ferry to the Balearic Islands departs, Majorca, Menorca and Ibiza in particular, and many tourists stop off in Denia on their way to these beautiful islands in the sun.

The capital of the entire Costa Blanca region is the historic city of Alicante, which has a long and distinguished history. One of the best known landmarks in Alicante is the Santa Barabara Castle, which dates from the 9th Century, it is the largest medieval fortress of its kind in Europe and dominates Alicante city from its lofty position on Mount Benacantil. The airport at Alicante (El Altet) is the arrival airport for the vast majority of visitors to the Costa Blanca (many also arrive at Murcia these days) and has good road links to all the other towns and resorts. The Costa Blanca itself comprises about 200 kilometres of coastline, and extends from Gandia in the north to Pilar de la Horadada in the south, to the north of the region is the Costa del Azahar and to the south, the Costa Calida), it also has a sizeable hinterland with areas of mountains, plains, sierras and Natural Parks. The coast has been well known for the production of salt since Roman times and the salt lakes at Santa Pola, Calpe, Torrevieja and La Mata being of particular importance.

If you are visiting the Costa Blanca soon be sure to call in on three of its finest towns Benidorm, Alicante and Denia.

The Right Blogging Platform

The Right Blogging Platform
The choice of a blogging platform is one the most important decisions a blogger/webmaster will make in the course of their business. Blogging can be made easier or more difficult, depending on the decision that is made. For example, user-friendly features must be carefully balanced with those techniques that are being utilized to the specific weblog site. This is but one aspect of the decision to be considered.

Customizable platforms allow for greater leeway in the formation and production of a blog site; however, a novice blogger/webmaster may want to start off with a program that is easier to navigate and use, then upgrade to a more complex platform as experience is gained. Veteran blog site owners may wish to go ahead and use a customizable platform in order to project the creativity and originality they desire. Using a simpler program may prove frustrating to an “old hand”.

No blogging platform can be considered the “best”, because each platform’s “personality” and individuality is as varied as those using the platforms. There are advantages to having numerous choices, as it is likely that there is a specific platform available to meet the needs of each and every blogger.

Bloggers/webmasters should keep the goals and priorities of their weblog site uppermost in mind when searching for the right blogging platform. Reviews of platforms should be taken in context with the reviewer’s position. What may look like a negative review to an experienced weblog owner may be exactly what the beginning weblogger needs.
